Install OTOO on Android

Three ways, depending on your device: phones and tablets install from Google Play, Google TV finds OTOO in its own Play Store, and boxes without Google Play take the direct APK. Pick your section below.

Google Play All downloads

Phone or tablet — from Google Play

The easiest way. Play keeps the app updated automatically.

  1. Open Google Play and search for “OTOO Player”

    Or simply tap the Google Play button at the top of this page — it opens the app’s page directly.

  2. Tap Install

    The app is small and installs in a few seconds. No sign-ups, no permissions to grant.

  3. Open OTOO

    Demo videos are preloaded so you can try everything right away. Your device code (MAC) is shown on the start screen — you’ll use it to add your own playlist.

Android TV & Google TV — from Google Play

Any TV or box with the official Google Play Store: Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield, Xiaomi Mi Box, Nokia Streaming Box, most Sony, TCL and Philips TVs…

  1. On the TV, open the Google Play Store app

    Use the search (or the microphone button on the remote) and say or type “OTOO Player”.

  2. Select Install, then Open

    After installing, OTOO appears in your apps row. The remote’s arrow keys control everything.

  3. Even easier: install from your phone

    Open the Google Play button above on your phone, tap the device picker next to “Install”, and choose your TV — Play installs OTOO on the TV remotely.

TV box without Google Play — direct APK

Cheap Android boxes (H96, X96, T95 and similar) often ship without the official Play Store. They install OTOO from the APK file instead.

  1. Open a browser on the box and download the APK

    In the box’s browser go to otoo.app/download and choose Direct download (APK).

    No browser on the box? Download the APK on your computer or phone, copy it to a USB stick, and plug the stick into the box.

  2. Open the downloaded file

    Open it from the browser’s downloads, or with the box’s file manager (often called File Manager or FileBrowser). On a USB stick: open the file manager, pick the USB drive, and select the APK.

  3. Allow the installation if the box asks

    The first time, Android asks for permission to install apps from that browser or file manager. Select Settings → Allow from this source when prompted, then press back. On older boxes the switch lives under Settings → Security → Unknown sources.

  4. Select Install, then Open

    That’s it — OTOO appears in the box’s app list. The APK works on both 32-bit and 64-bit boxes.

After installing — add your playlist

  1. Note the device code on the start screen

    OTOO shows a code in the form of a MAC address (for example 0A:1B:2C:3D:4E:5F). That code is your device’s identity.

  2. Add your own M3U or Xtream playlist

    On any phone or computer, open otoo.app/mylist, enter the device code, and add the playlist you got from your provider. The app picks it up on the next start.

  3. Try it free, activate when ready

    The free trial starts automatically. When it ends, activate the device once at otoo.app/activate — one payment per device, no subscription in the app itself.

Good to know

OTOO is only a player: it includes no channels and no playlists beyond the built-in free demo videos. You add the playlist you already have from your own provider.
